That dog absolutely does not care and is not in any significant discomfort. And its clearly happy that its feeling so much better. I dont think theres nearly as much discomfort as relief. Even without numbing agents the abcesses themselves hurt far more than a poke from a needle would.

Poor Penny looks absolutely mortified that her rear end was so fully revealed to the audience. This procedure is not the most comfortable way of emptying the sacs and the vet giving the demonstration did seem to drag things out a bit more than was really necessary. I can imagine how relieved Penny was when her ordeal was over and she was able to clamp her tail down over her little bumhole as tight as she possibly could. Don't worry Penny, this isn't the sort of procedure that needs doing on a daily basis...😳😰😱😣🐕🤷🏻🫂💞

whats up with so many cats getting urinary blockages lately? My poor guy just tried going pee let out a bunch then he tried going 4 times after again and only tiny bits of pink color pee came out. Hes sitting in his hiding spot right now going to go get hills uti food for him hopefully hes okay.

Wouldn't it be a better rule of thumb to just sit in the floor? Buns can be pretty panicky at the vet, with high risk of flying out of your arms/off the table.

I think the video ended too soon. I think it is very important to mention that you do want a small leak when you give a breath to avoid tracheal tears. Many cats will get tracheal tears from over inflation of the cuff. The Oregon Vet Conference 2023 had a feline anesthesia lecture that was great and there was a slide that said “You do want a leak!”
